Sharing Power: Julie Perrissel and Sumit Gole, IvyGo

IvyGo is a cleantech startup built from lived experience. Both founders spent years in large corporate IT roles, but the project began with something far more personal: the difficulty of charging an EV without access to home infrastructure. “I know what it’s like to have an EV and not be able to charge — it’s stressful.” From that frustration grew a simple idea with wide impact: what if private chargers could be shared, like an Airbnb for EV charging?

IvyGo enables exactly that — connecting drivers with nearby residents who are willing to share their chargers. It’s a practical, community-driven response to one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: inequality of access. Built in-house and bootstrapped from family, friends and early angel investors, the platform reflects a blend of resilience, frugality and technical credibility. As one founder put it, “Building a startup takes a village… we’ve built a village around this idea.”

Their story is emblematic of Climate Solvers — everyday innovators creating pathways for change, one charger, one neighbourhood, one community at a time.
